Help Us Get Matis Road Paved
Ongoing

About This Event
Matis Road, the unpaved county road that leads to Kiddy Up Ranch, is getting worse. We have been reporting its condition for more than seven years. Deep potholes, washouts after every heavy rain and constant wear and tear on vehicles are now keeping families, students, veterans and partners from reaching the ranch.
In this video, our participants and families talk about what the drive is really like: the bumps and potholes, the repairs they have had to make to their cars, and the days they cannot make it at all. Some families have told us they skip school days when it rains, or simply cannot afford the maintenance anymore.
On Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at 10:00 AM, founder Tammy Sliger and ranch families brought this video and their stories to the Pasco County Commission meeting at the West Pasco Government Center to ask the county to pave Matis Road. As Tammy told the commissioners, we are not mad at the county. We need the county's help.
Watch the Spectrum Bay News 9 story, Pasco ranch founder, families asking county commissioners to pave Matis Road, or see it with the rest of our news coverage on the Kiddy Up Ranch In the Media page.
How you can help: share this video and this page. The more people who see the problem, the easier it is to get Matis Road fixed so every family can keep coming to the ranch.
